Kukaru (クカル) is a character in The Epic of Zektbach. He is a member of the Sazaragi Agency. A half-blooded Kagachin and Yamaji-jin, and the descendant of Misakuya, Gijiri's unrequited love interest, Kukaru was instrumental in the downfall of Masinowa, by rescuing Malchut, a Child of the Planet, from death by drowning during her Panta Rhei.
Appearance[]
An oft-smiling young man, Kukaru has a slightly pale fair complexion, light brown to pinkish red hair, and yellow eyes. As a descendant of the Kagachin, he bears "The Eye", and covers his right eye as Gijiri does.
His only known outfit appears strangely different from other members of the Sazaragi, sporting what seems to be a piece of armor with sleeves of orange and yellow fabric, and arm-long, fingleress black and orange gloves.
Personality[]
Kukaru is young and spontaneous, with a prominent caring side. He personally endorsed the education of Malchut upon her arrival in Masinowa, and took it upon himself to teach her how to speak.
With selflessness far greater than expected of a thief, he goes to great lengths to uphold his values, and that is mostly shown in his relationship to Malchut ; after having rescued her, he defended her right to live against Gijiri and, when the latter failed to refuse, he did not hesitate to shield her from his sword at the cost of his own life.
Story[]
According to Nyoah's notes, Kukaru's parents are a mother montain god and a father snake god. A such child wasn't socially recognized and he traveled around various parts of Masinowa during his childhood.
However, in such complicated hoe environment, Kukaru seemed to grow up straight without bending.[1]
