"A renowned former Knight Commander who rebelled against his country."[1] ~ Guidebook

Adhuk Neuendorf (アドフーク・ノイエンドルフ) is a minor character of The Epic of Zektbach, appearing in Chapter 3. He is the son of Adnowell Neuendorf, and the adoptive father of Nox Catorce. He is also the former captain of Noigllado's guard. Alongside Nox, he is the leader of Novaria, the Anti-Governmental Army waging war against the Holy Kingdom.

Appearance[]

A middle-aged man, Adhuk has a stern, imposing appearance. He is tall, has broad shoulders, and harsh facial features, small eyes, and a sharp nose. His hair is turning grey, and kept in a ponytail.

Adhuk's attire consists of a black tunic with a large red belt and matching pants, accompanied by a brown coat, and light brown gloves and boots.

Personality[]

Adhuk is a kind man, who instantly impressed people such as Lexi with his humanity and integrity. On top of adopting Nox, he also sheltered Roake, a war orphan from Azuelgatt, and is an ideal father figure to them both. Because he knew Nox was meant to be a king, he goes so far as taking care to keep him dressed as one despite the harsh living conditions he and all of the Novaria rebels have to endure.

However, Adhuk's integrity, coupled with his life as a soldier, also entails him being quick to anger , and he does not falter before the use of force against those he deems a threat to Novaria or to the innocent. When meeting Falo in the Panan Jungle, he threatened to kill him despite their past friendship, as he was an agent of Noigllado. Likewise, he is prone to chastise Roake for slacking off with Lexi, despite his paternal love.

Story[]

Adhuk was born into the Neuendorf family, one of the most prestigious knightly families in the Kingdom of Noigllado, and was taken in by his father, Adnowell, a renowned general. He has experienced many large-scale battles, which lends him skill not only with a sword, but also in military strategy and leadership.

After his father's death in the war of Azuelgatt, he took over the position of Commander of the Royal Knightage, the highest rank of knights.

Because he knew Nox was meant to be a royal ruler, he begged for a reversal of his treatment, as being branded was equivalent to losing his civil rights. He became disgusted with the way the central government operated and left the country with him. He thinks of Nox as his son, and is always by his side to watch over him.[2]
